The farm is approximately 5 hours’ drive from Cape Town. There are 3 potential routes all different distance but approximate similar travel times.

Route 1  : 501km (5hrs) –  60km on dirt road

N7 to Vanrhynsdorp. Follow R27 to Calvinia. Continue on R27 towards Williston for 15km then turn right onto R354 towards Middelpos/Sutherland (R354 dirt road). Follow R354 for 10km and keep right onto Rooiwal Road (no number). Follow this road for 38km and turn right onto farm road at Matjeskloof sign board (Silver Dragon)

Route 2 : 390km (5hrs) – 240km on dirt road 

N1 to Worcester. Turn left onto R43 towards Ceres. Continue on R43 for 38km and turn right at T-junction onto R46 towards Ceres. Continue through Ceres on R46. This becomes a dirt road (R355) towards Tankwa Karoo /Calvinia. Follow R355 and turn right towards Tankwa Park/Middelpos, 22km past the Tankwa Padstal. Follow this road past the park office and up the Gannaga Pass towards Middelpos until you reach a T-junction (117km). Turn left onto Rooiwal road and follow this road for 25km and turn left onto farm road at sign board Matjeskloof (Silver dragon) 

Route 3 : 465km (5h30m) – 120km on dirt road

N1 to Matjiesfontein (233km). Turn left onto R354 towards Sutherland (110km). From Sutherland continue on R354 (dirt road) towards Middelpos for 80km. Turn into Middelpos and drive through town. Turn right at Police station onto Rooiwal Road (unmarked). Follow road for 30km and turn left onto farm road at Matjeskloof sign (Silver Dragon).

Once on the farm road continue up to Matjeskloof fence/security gate – enter code (pre-arranged) and continue towards camp and homestead.
